Update a User's Permissions to send email - Power Bi Service

I have added several users to a report but unchecked the box "Send an email notification" in "Grant people access".

Now, I want to send them an email but don't see any options to send emails.

Is there a way to update the permissions and send email without removing and adding users again?

Hi @MikeGanem3

As far as I know, there is no way to do this automatically within the power BI service. Your only option is to manually send them an email from your own email account. If this is a feature you would like, you can write or create an idea here https://aka.ms/FabricIdeas

Hi @MikeGanem3 ,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft Fabric Community.

We’re following up as we haven’t heard from you in a while. As mentioned by @GilbertQ , currently there is no way within the Power BI Service to trigger email notifications after access has been granted without removing and re-adding the users. The recommendation to manually notify users via your own email remains the available workaround.

If you have submitted this feature request in the Ideas Portal (https://aka.ms/FabricIdeas), please feel free to share the link here so others in the community can upvote it. With enough support, Microsoft may consider it for future implementation.

For any further questions or discussions, please start a new thread in the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum,  we’ll be glad to assist you.

We may consider closing this thread for now.

Thank you for being a part of the Microsoft Fabric Community.

Hi, Mike!

What you can do is follow the same process, but make sure to keep the email checkbox selected. The users will receive the email.
