I have a Power Bi Report that uses a composite model. In this report, I'm using a DirectQuery connection to a semantic model published in the Power BI Service, and also have a table from an Impala Database loades in Import mode - resulting in a composite model.
However, when I try to use the Publish to Web feature, I receive the following message:
Warning: You can't creat an embed code because this report isn't supported for Publidh to Web.
I know that DirectQuery models cannot be published to the web, but I thought composite models should be supported - or am I wrong?
Why is this happening? Is there anu workaround or recommended approach to publish or share this report publicly?

Hi @marcioggomes,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Forum Community.
You're correct — composite models that include Direct Query to Power BI semantic models are not supported for the "Publish to web" feature.
While your model setup is valid as a composite model (Import + Direct Query), the presence of Direct Query to a semantic model introduces a limitation due to security and data governance concerns.

Hi guys. Unfortunatelly the I cant solve this issue. I think that is realy not possible to publish in the web composite models that uses direct query.

Hi. The doc isn't very clear regarding this. I would expect that if direct query doesn't work, then why would coposite do it (it has direct query). I can see at the limitations and considerations that says the following sentences doesn't work:
I don't think composite work with publish to web. Only import data.
I hope that helps,
Happy to help!
