Hello experts,
I have Power BI service reports with scheduled refresh thru an on-premise data gateway.
The report data update went well until I got an error message telling me a report has failed to refresh.
So I tried to do a gateway connection test, giving full login inforamtion, but still got the error message (see below).
I'm sure the login information is correct as I am able to login the data source system using the same login information.
Based on the message, I guess the issue is about the login information of source system.
But my question is why it does not work this time using the same gateway settings,
correct login information as it worked fine before.
My data source system is SAP BW, so the connection type is SAP Business Warehouse server.
By the way, I already upgraded the gateway to the latest version, but still does not work.
Anyone can help me out with this ?
Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Ken

I found the SAP login account for date gateway is blocked due to to many login attemps, so I unlocked it, then refresh data , it works now.
Thank you all....
Hi Ibendlin,
Like I said, in order to check what's happened,
I unchecked "skip test' to enter login acct. ID and password,
then click on 'Save' , got the error post previously.
That's why I cannot understand what's going on with the credential issue.
I created and set up the connection with the gateway cluster before, it worked.
But this time, do the same steps, get the error......So weird.
Hi @Anonymous ,
On your gateway machine open services>restart On-premises data gateway service and try again.
Thanks,
Sai Teja

Hi Sai Teja ,
I just restarted the gateway, then manually refreshed report data, I got the below error.
The gateway is ready for use after re-start.
now the credentials are no longer invalid, now they are missing. Try re-applying them.
Actually, got the same error even though creating a new connection to the gateway with the credentials.....
Can you use the same credentials to log into SAPBW directly?
Yes, I can use the same credentials to log into SAPBW directly.
Go to the gateway management page and update the connection credentials. Make sure to uncheck "skip test".
