Hi All,
Using this great info on the REST API by @GilbertQ I was able to rebind my report to a different shared dataset:
Now I face another problem - I cannot pull down the report as a pbix to update/republish in Power BI Desktop. The option to save the pbix is greyed out. I tried the REST API for 'Export Report in Group' but it does not work and states that it will not work if you have used rebind. 😞
Anyone know any other ways around this? I would like to have pbix file to manage/publish the ongoing report changes and not have to create a new report that would clobber users existing bookmarks.
Thanks,
Dustin
Had another idea, create a new report from the same shared dataset and copy in the same visuals, etc. then publish over the other report. Unfortunately I got this error message when trying to publish the report:
Hi @dusdau,
It seems like something wrong with your rebind operations so that your contents can mapping to multiple datasets which caused the conflict with update/publish operations.
I'd like to suggest you open a support ticket to contact power bi team to check the backend contents binding id.
