Unable to deploy Datamart to production:

Something odd is happening when I try and deploy a Datamart to production. The datamart has an Azure SQL source and the deployment from dev to test works seemlessly. However, when I deploy from test to prod, the deployment fails, giving me the following error:

Backend Error: Other failure: DatamartOperationCancelled
Operation ID: 3c9e83da-4ac8-4366-a6e4-e3e10421548c
Correlation ID: 54307546-0347-ac19-08a4-3b5a5e01f7e5
Request ID: 764a87a7-3009-691d-06a8-572bbe0e2339
Time: 8/21/2024, 4:34:02 PM

Please could you help me resolve this issue as I'm unsure how to get further detail to pinpoint the issue.

Hi @Mike_007 ,

As per my knowledge in solving production issues there is issues with datamarts and still it is in preview so, you wont get immediate support from Microsoft support team if anything goes wrong. My recommendation for our users don't integrate with critical applications in your organisation (like which are used regularly).

I hope it will be helpful.

Thanks,

Sai Teja

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for your assistance. This didn't quite solve my issue and it seems to be a rather strange issue.

I created a work around which isn't pretty but works.

I'm not sure if this was the problem from stopping my deployment but I noticed the production stage (the last stage) could not be set to private in the deployment pipeline. I ended up making a new deployment pipeline with 4 stages, the 3rd stage being production. Because I was able this to be set to private it seemed to let me deploy it to this stage.

Could it possibly have to do with the fact that I have RLS applied on the datamart?

Hi @Mike_007 ,

The error message ‘DatamartOperationCancelled’ can be difficult to diagnose, but there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem and possibly resolve it:

1. Check network connectivity: Sometimes, network issues can cause a deployment to fail. Make sure there are no interruptions or limitations in the network that could affect the deployment.

2. Change the data type. If the table has ANY data type, try changing it to another data type.

3. Check Azure SQL Database Logs: Check the Azure SQL database logs for any errors or warnings.
