Unable to create connection for the following reason: DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_VNetHttpRequestFailedErr

I am trying to get the vnet data gateway working, currently setup a vnet data gateway, published a report on Power BI and now I need to change the report settings to get is to use the vnet data gateway.

When Add vNET is selected, the beloe pop up can be seen, and this is where it fails.

The error details can be seen below.

If SQL login was used, I get the error below.

Unable to create connection for the following reason: DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_VNetHttpRequestFailedError

Details:

xxxxxx.windows.net: A task was canceled.

If oauth authentication was used, I get the error below.

Unable to create connection for the following reason: OAuth login through the data gateway was unsuccessful. Specific error details available below and in the gateway logs.

Details:

xxxxx.windows.net: OAuthFinishLoginOnGatewayAsync

You might need to speak with your networking and cyber security team.  You'll need to make sure that you have all the associated private endpoints are turned on and have been configured correctly to accept all the connections.

It was indeed a networking issue as the firewall had to be reconfigured to make it work.
