Unable to convert M query into Native Query

Hello,

We are facing dataset connection issue only on Training environment whereas reports are working fine for all the other environments. This error is also not consistent, it is appearing for some users whereas for other users this error does not appear.

Whenever few users try to login into the report they get error Unable to convert Mquery to native query error, but they can use same reports on the other environment. what can be the reason?

Here is the screenshot of error,

Only few users getting this error and others can access reports with no errors.

Need help in understanding this inconsistent behaviour.

Thanks,

Pravina

Hi @Anonymous ,

Would you please try to use the latest verison of power bi desktop and republish the report to web service again.  Please check the applied steps in query editor.

As the document says:  If the Query Editor query is overly complex, an error occurs. To remedy the error, either delete the problematic step in Query Editor, or import the data instead of using DirectQuery.

For more details,  please refer to the similiar post: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Error-Unable-to-convert-an-M-query/m-p/1401998 and https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Service/Unable-to-convert-an-M-query-in-table-table-name-into-a-native/m-p/1550219

If this post helps, then please consider Accept it as the solution to help the other members find it more quickly.

My query is not complex. There are just 2 steps source and Navigation. But I can try by installing latest Power BI desktop.

Thanks for your support.
