Unable to connect to web server data source

Hi Community,

I’m trying to connect to this web server "cubos3.sispro.gov.co" through Power BI. I can succesfully connect from excel through a "Analysis Services" connector, how ever when I try to connect from Power BI Desktop I get this error "DataSource.Error: AnalysisServices: A connection cannot be made. Ensure that the server is running."

Am I doing something wrong? How can I repplicate excel connection to Power BI?

Best Regards,

  • Hi AndresPesca

I would chat to the owner of the web server "cubos3.sispro.gov.co" and see how to correctly connect.

    Hi AndresPesca ,

How do you connect to this web connector, also use "analysis services"connector or other way? what data source you want to get through connecting to web server?

Can you give me your detailed steps about the process of connecting to web server? I'll appreciate for this information.

      Hi Anonymous,

      Thanks for your reply,

I’ll show the connection process for Excel where the procces is succesfull. As I told you I use the "Analysis Service" connector from excel. That pop up the wizard shown in the picture.

Once I provide the server name, user and password the following windows pop-up. Then I choose the first table that contain the data I need.

After I press finish and then, the connection brings me all the information I need to work with. And let me use it on a Dynamic Table.

I need to replicate this process from Power BI Desktop in order to edit the data from there, however when I try to connect with the same connector, I get the error showed in my first post.

      Appreciate your help.
