Unable to connect to the data source undefined

I´ve seen recent posts related to this subject, referring to upgrade the gateway in order to fix it.

I already updated the gateway and for some reason the refresh works sometimes and it doesn´t work, it is not a consistent behavior.

Also, I have multiple datasets using the same gateway connection and they work fine, only one is giving me errors.

 

Any suggestions?

    Hi bobthin ,

     

    What's your data source? Did it refresh well in Power BI desktop?

     

    Would you please check if  privacy level settings in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service are the same:

     

    In Power BI Desktop:

     

    Options and Settings --> Data Source Settings

    For every Datasource: -->  Edit Permissions

    Set Privacy Level: e.g. „Organizational“

     

    Power BI Service:

     

    Datasets --> (Choose you Datasets which does not update properly) --> settings --> Gateway Connection --> Actions --> (expand you cluster to show all Data Sources) --> (Choose relevant Datasource) --> Advanced Settings --> Privacy setting --> set same level (e.g. „Organizational) as in Power BI Desktop

      Good day Demond, sorry for the late response.

       

      Yes, my datasets update well in desktop and actually I set it up to refresh 8 times a day. The strange thing is that it updates half the times and half the times it breaks, so the behavior of the refreshing process is not consistent.

       

      I also performed what you suggest and still get the following error message:

      OLE DB or ODBC error: [DataSource.Error] ERROR [S1000] [SAP AG][LIBODBCHDB DLL][HDBODBC] General error;-10108 Session has been reconnected.
