Hi Team,
I have created a report in Power BI desktop using the data set from aws RDS-Postgresql. The refresh was working in desktop on clicking refresh data but after publishing the report to service I was unable to refresh or schedule refresh for the dataset with the same credentials
Getting error message like:
Failed to update data source credentials: An error happened while reading data from the provider: 'An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions'Hide details

How can I make this connection successful and schedul the refresh.
Solved! Go to Solution.
HI @Anonymous
You will need to install Power BI Gateway on a VM inside the VPC that can connect to the RDS-Postgresql
And then configure the gateway to connect to the data source via the Gateway.
Here are more details: Power Query PostgreSQL connector - Power Query | Microsoft Docs
