Unable to connect to Power BI Datasets from Excel

Hi all

 

Hopefully I'm asking in the right place!

 

I have been trying to connect to Power BI Datasets from Excel via "Data" ➡ "Get Data" ➡ "From Power BI".

It is giving me an error that says:

 

ERROR

This feature could not be started. Close this dialog to ignore the problem or click "Restart" to try again.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Additional Info:

  • Clicking "Restart" does nothing
  • Everyone from our organisation seems to be having the same issue, and IT could not figure out why. 
  • I have the Pro license
  • Windows 10
  • Excel Version 2102 (Build 13801.20960) 64bit
  • This works from Power BI ("Get data" ➡ "Power BI Datasets")

 

Let me know if additional info is needed.

P.S. - I like how Microsoft just told me to close this and ignore the problem...

    Yes I do see my company tenant. I am signed in and unfortunately I get the exact same error message still.

    Hi!

     

    Do you see your comapny tenant when you are connection to power BI from excel? If you see that it means you are signed in to access Power BI datasets. Go to File -->Account --> Sign In if you are not signed in with your Office account .

    From power BI (yout company tenant)

    Can you connect normally after closing this error?

    I try to reproduce your scene, it works normally in my version. You can try to upgrade the excel version of one machine.
