Unable to Refresh Semantic Model in Power BI Service

In the Power BI Service, I'm unable to refresh the Semantic model.

When I click on the warning symbol, I get the error shown below.

The Semantic model is based on a simple three-column spreadsheet.

In order to update the model and therefore its report in Power BI, I have to remove and re-upload the spreadsheet.

That's not a good practice.

Is there any way to allow for a refresh, even if it's only manual and not scheduled?

Actually, I figured it out.  In the upper right-corner of the Power BI Service for the report, there is a small refresh button.  Once I clicked it, the report successfully updated.

You can try few thiings here...

    1. Excel file is saved in latest format .xlsx
    2. It must have a Table defined
    3. Power BI is pulling data from the Table instead of the Sheet

Thanks!  Yes, I have tried all of those things.  I'll "keep at it".  🙂

    Hi Anonymous

So your data source is excel? Where are you creating the report, getting it directly on Service or uploading it via Desktop? If you are getting this excel through Service, you need to make sure that the formatting inside your excel is Table format (Ctrl+T) .
