Unable to Publish Local Excel File After Edits

Hi - 

 

I'm relatively new to Power BI, but have really started to explore the dashboard & reporting capabilities recently. I've uploaded a dataset previously (from a local Excel file connected to several other local data sources) via the "publish" method and haven't had an issue, even when re-publishing after data updates. However, I recently added a few columns to one of the tables in my local file, and have been receiving the following error ever since: 

For what it's worth, I have also set up and tried refreshing through the gateway, which succeeds each time, however the data never updates, even after time has gone by and with multiple refreshes of the reports themselves. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi croylem 

     

    Could you make sure that you have got the latest version of Excel installed and see if that resolves your error?

      Thanks for your response! Unfortunately, I have the latest version that my organization allows at the current time. The publish to BI process had been working with this version previously, with the issue just starting this week, however, I've always been unable to refresh the data via the gateway (refresh succeeds, but data does not update).
