Unable connect to the data source
Hey gulsemin ,
the below image visualizes the 3rd step of connecting a Power BI dataset with a data gateway connection, assuming the data source (your SQL Server) requires a data gateway connection:
Check settings of the dataset, you find the settings of the dataset in the workspace inside Power BI Service
1) The gateway you installed
2) The gateway is available, meaning up and running
3) The data gateway connection is mapped to the dataset. This article explains how to create a gateway connection: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/service-gateway-data-sources?WT.mc_id=DP-MVP-5003068
If the Power BI file is leveraging data from more than one data source, you need to create more than one data gateway connection or authenticate to web-based data sources (e.g., Excel files hosted in a SharePoint library). The next image shows where you can authenticate to these data sources. This can also be done on the settings site of the dataset:
In the above image, the message states that no action is required as access to this data source is provided by a data gateway connection established via the gateway.
Hopefully, this helps to tackle your challenge.
Regards,
Tom
