Hello all,
I'm creating a dashboard using Power BI in the company where I work. But the PBI file is accessed and modified by me and another person who lives elsewhere. This person focus in data modeling and I'm responsible for the the visual part.
Do you know if there is a way to work in the same pbix file (not at the same time) with different people? Maybe using sharepoint, onedrive or other office application.
Best Regards
hi, @Anonymous
For your requirement, I think you could do it as below:
Step1:
Upload the pbix file to one drive or SharePoint.
Step2:
If someone wants to modify the pbix file, he could download it from one drive or SharePoint
and delete the old pbix file then upload the new pbix file again.
Best Regards,
Lin
You could literally store the PBIX file anywhere, file share, etc. and just edit and save it from/to that location. Just make sure that everyone is running the same version of Desktop. Alternatively, have your data person load the dataset to the Service and you connect to it via Desktop and create the visuals.
I was using the local network of the company. But apparently Power Bi can not access it.
I imagine it's a problem for IT to solve. That's why I wanted an online alternative.
