Turn off Explore this Data feature on viewer user
I have a big concern with this feature because users are now able to remove filters that they shouldn't
This menu option sometimes shows in a report even on viewers users, see my experiment:
I have a dataset with 10 years of information an a second one wich come from the same Power BI desktop file but with only 1 month of information
Both are on the same premium PPU workspace where this users has viewer access
Both have identical settings
on Both datasets this user has "Workspace Viewer" permission
I created 2 small dashboards with just 2 views reading, each dashboard reads each dataset
Both dashboards are in a second workspace where again the user has viewer access
logged as this users and opening both reports at the same time, the Explore this Data menu shows in one report and not in the other
the one where shows is the one with the big dataset

Explore this data feature in Power BI, which is currently in preview, means it's still in development and refinement. Currently, there is no direct way to turn off this feature for viewer users. You need to make sure that the user only has "Viewer" permissions, not "Build" permissions. The Explore this data feature should only be available to users with build permissions. So, there is a bug in this preview version because there is a case where a user with only "Viewer" permissions can see this feature (and can´t on other) Here are print screens
