Trying to Add Data Source to Gateway for Excel "Invalid connection credentials"

Hello!  I am trying to add Excel Data Source to my On-Prem Data Gateway.  I am getting a "Invalid connection credentials" error when I put my Window's username and password in.  Could the security at my work be preventing me from adding my Window's credentials?  How do I troubleshoot this?  Please help.  Should I be using the Personal Gateway instead?

  • Hi blackshep01,

I just verified that I can add Excel Data Source to my On-Prem Data Gateway successfully without this issue.

Based on my research and test, this issue occurs usually when the file path, or the Windows username/passwork is incorrect. Could you go to recheck these settings (I'm using the 'NTDomain\user_name' as the Windows username). Here is a similar thread for your reference. :smileyhappy:

In addition, make sure you're using the latest version of Gateway.

    Regards
