Translytical task flow “Refresh after successful outcome” doesn't show new Fabric SQL DB immediately
I’m using translytical task flows and data function in Power BI to write data from the report into a Fabric SQL DB (DirectQuery via semantic model). After the function completes, “Refresh report after successful outcome” is enabled.
The goal is instant “read-your-writes” behavior (user submits -> sees inserted data immediately).
This was working before (maybe a week ago), but now data appears immediately in DB (when queried) but Power BI visuals do not update instantly.
How can I ensure Power BI re-runs DirectQuery immediately after a translytical task flow? Is this caused by query caching in semantic model / Fabric, and how can it be controlled?
It’s especially confusing because I was testing this already and everything was working perfectly about a week ago.
When I updated a record and submitted it, I could see the change in PowerBI almost immediately (within seconds).

Thank you for your ideas and for taking the time to help with my problem.
In the end, it turned out the problem was that I was connected to the SQL analytics endpoint instead of the SQL database directly, which likely caused the delay. Now the updates happen instantly.

this is expected to work as you describe. Most likely they broke it with the botched May release cycle.

The flow refresh doesn’t always force a fresh DirectQuery call, and turning off query caching or nudging a tiny slicer/param is usually enough to make the model query the DB again.
