Hello Fabric Community,
I need your help with a challenge I've encountered while working with a Power BI Semantic Model (single dataset) within my Power BI Workspace.
My goal is to perform data transformations, such as splitting a column by delimiter, on this dataset. The majority of tutorials and resources I've found only cover editing datasets using DAX or through a semantic link (which is does not work because it's expecting several tables, and I have one dataset (one table)). Unfortunately, none have addressed a basic step I'm struggling with: loading a Power BI dataset into Power Query, Fabric Notebook, or Fabric Lakehouse for transformation purposes.
When I attempt to load this dataset directly into Power BI, I'm constrained by the fact that it is in Direct Query mode, which prevents me from transforming the data. Switching to Import mode doesn't appear to be an option.
Has anyone successfully loaded a Power BI dataset from the workspace into Fabric Notebook, Fabric Lakehouse, or Power Query for editing or transforming?
Thank you in advance for your time and help. I'm looking forward to any advice or insights you can share.
Kind regards.

and if you need to connect a Power BI Semantic Model to a Power BI desktop in a "import mode", you can do it by selecting "Analysis Service" as a connector.
