There is no gateway to access the data source message

Hello,

I am publishing a new report to my workspace and I am running into an error that I haven't seen before.

I am getting the message "There is no gateway to access the data source (specific source)" message for a data source that I use in multiple reports across my workspace.

When I go to the Gateway settings for this report... all data sources are assigned and all connection tests are good and status at the top says "Running on (gateway computer)" with a green checkmark.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Thanks!

B

We have the exact same issue! All connection work fine and the dataset can be updated, but the report and app using the datasets have no data and have the exact same cryptic message:

There is no gateway to access the data source (specific source).

What gateway is this??

We have tried re-publishing the report, and this solves the problem. But the problem appears again after some hours 😞

Checked that thread, but unfortunately not using any RLS in my reports. Ill keep digging, wonder if possibly some settings were changed to allow access to the gateway above me that I am unaware of?

Hi there

If you open the PBIX and go into data source settings can you make sure that all the data sources do have it setup in the Power BI Service

Yep, all data sources are set up properly in the service. To make things even weirder, I published the exact same report to a separate workspace and that one works fine. Exact same report on two different workspaces.

That really does not make much sense.

Possibly something is wrong in that App Workspace or with that version of the PBIX?

I have not experienced anything like this. Perhaps posting a screen shot might help?
