There is no available gateway - Athena data source
Hi, I have been trying to publish my report to Power BI service from Power BI desktop. But it keeps showing the error of "There is no gateway available".
The Power BI desktop is installed in an EC2 machine and data source is onboarded from athena connector as direct query with the help of simba athena odbc driver which too is online.
I have already installed the gateway on standard mode and is online. Kindly find the screenshot below of the error in Power BI service with gateway installed and online in the same server.
The connector parameters such as DSN are kept the same in both Power BI desktop and Power BI service as well. Also the privacy is set as organizational for both the services.
Powerbi desktoppowerbi service
The Gateway and data source is being shown online in the Power BI service.
Please guide me for what I may have been missing here.

Hi,
Just a thought. If you are using ODBC did you verify the Connectors x86 and x64 along with Power BI Desktop x86 and x64 are same? Also User DSN / System DSN should not be a problem but worth a try.
Cheers

Hi Anonymous
So you get data from local data source in Desktop with ODBC connector ? Then publish the report to Service , Desktop returned a error "There is no gateway available" ?

Yes Anonymous ,
I get data from athena in local desktop powerbi with odbc connector and then publish report to service.
In the service I get the error "There is no gateway available".
Please do note the data source and gateway shows online in the service.
