There is an error with your dataset

Hi,

I've recently replaced a report on PowerBi online but unfortunately the following error message has appeared.

'There was an error with your dataset. Select the warning icon to see more details'

I used the 'get data' button to replace a report/dataset which was previously working fine.

Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this?

@Sean1,

What is your data source? Do you directly connect to your data source in Power BI Service and then create report in Service?

Regards,
Lydia

Hi Lydia,

The report was created in PowerBi desktop and uploaded to PowerBi online.

The data source is a spreadsheet and is connected directly to the report.

I've tried installing the latest update but it doesnt seem to have made any difference.

Thanks

Sean

@Sean1,

I am unable to reproduce your issue. How about you re-publish the PBIX file in Power BI Desktop and replace the dataset in Power BI Service?

Regards,
Lydia
