The dataflow does not retrieve all the expected data when imported into Power BI.

I have a dataflow that was working fine two weeks ago, but now it isn't displaying all the expected data when imported into Power BI.

For example, I have six tables: April, May, June, July, August, and September.

  • April has data
  • May has data
  • June has no data
  • July has no data
  • August has data
  • September has no data

When I refresh the dataflow, there are no errors, and it indicates that the process has completed, but I've noticed that the refresh duration is significantly shorter than it was two weeks ago.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? Please help I'm struggling with this issue and have been for several days now. Thank you.

Hi @rajendraongole1, thanks for your response. I went through all the solutions you suggested, but none of them worked. I tried recreating the dataflow and checked the source for any major changes in data types or formats, but there weren't any. I also looked at the applied steps, and everything seems fine. It’s confusing because I can still see the data in each table when I check in dataflow and the duration of refresh time isn’t working like it used to.

Are there any additional recommendations I should look into? I'm feeling quite stuck at the moment and unsure of how to resolve the issue. Thank you.

Hi @lemrx - Verify whether the tables (like June, July, September) that are showing no data still have data at the source. Sometimes, if your source (e.g., a database, Excel, SharePoint) is updated or changed, it might result in missing data in your Power BI dataflow.

Check if there were any changes to the source format, permissions, or schema that may have caused the dataflow to behave differently.

Check if there are filters or transformations in the dataflow that might be incorrectly filtering out rows or not applying correctly. If a condition/filter was inadvertently changed, it could cause specific tables or rows to not load.

Review the Query Editor for each table in your dataflow. Look for applied steps that may exclude rows based on certain conditions or misinterpret empty tables as errors.Ensure the relationships, joins, or merge queries are configured correctly in the Dataflow.
