The New UI for Workspace Landing Page Causing Issues

Hello,

Having the reports and the datasets on the same page by default and not being able to separate them is causing the following issues:

  • People are sending/being sent links for datasets instead of the reports. This is especially frustrating for new users and hinders getting new teams (customers) to adopt Power BI as a new reporting solution. This issue is further compounded by the new report & dataset icons no longer being color coded as they were before.
  • The new report/dataset/dashbaord icons are too hard to distinguish. The previous icons were colored in, making them easy to distinguish, especially for more senior or visually impaired users. While I do not think that the ADA or anyone could make a case, I imagine it would be frustrating (if not off-putting) to be someone like that and have a service suddenly make it harder for you to use it.

Thank you for reading my feedback,

Nick

Hi @nickcoleman

Could you give us an example of what this looks like?

Sure thing Gilbert,

I am referencing the 2 left columns, "<icon>" & "Name".  The names of the reports and datasets are identical, making it confusing for new or infrequent users.
