The Data Gateway OR Azure Active Directory connect tool?

Im reseraching Power BI security and im trying to resolve what is the best architecture to offer to users.

 

What i can't understand from reading literature on line; videos etc is how the Data Gateway interacts with the Azure Active Directory connect tool. 

 

So the Azure Active Directory connect tool helps to map Azure AD with On-Prem AD, meaning that users can log into the service using their on-prem name and credentials. Does this mean that if the data source is on prem and a Data Gateway is used that the mapping process is already covered by the Azure Active Directory connect tool? If not then the mapping will need to be performed twice and managed in 2 places?

 

Has anyone here used both? Could you tell me how they interact?

    Hi gibbettp ,

    According to your description, I think you are mention azure data gateway and azure active directory connection tools, right?

    If this is a case, I think they are more related to azure, you can post this to azure related to forum to get better support.
