Testing RLS with guest user via AAD - problem with ''free'' user status while in PPU trial
Hello,
I am testing the sharing of a report externally. For that purpose I have
-Company Microsoft E5 package, plus trial PPU license with company email
-Private email address with PPU trial (with university domain)
I have added the private email to the AAD, as a guest user. It is discoverable in the PowerBI. However, when I try to share the report with my private account, I receive the following message:
''Free users or groups can only be subscribed to reports or dashboards backed by Premium capacity: here_is_the_private_email_address''.
At the sime time, in another window, I have PowerBI opened from the private email account and I clearly see that I have there trail PPU license running.
What am I missing?
Additionally, some of clients do not have their emails in their own domains. How can I share externally to email addresses that use public domains? I tried sharing to my outlook.com or gmail but I got a notification that you cannot start a PowerBI subscription on a private email. We do not want to provide organisational email addresses to our clients only to overcome this issue. I would appreciate any suggestions!

Hi Anonymous
As far as I am aware sharing externally required a Power BI Premium P1/2/3 capacity.
Because you are using Power BI Premium per user my understanding is that this will not work because it is licenses per user and not by capacity.
