Testing Cross-Tenant Access After Power BI Tenant Migration
- 1 year ago
Yes, this setup is supported but since [email protected] is now a different identity from [email protected], you’ll need to treat them as a new B2B guest in the original (Infy) tenant. Any existing permissions from the old ID won’t carry over, so content like workspaces or apps must be re-shared with the new guest account.
To validate access: make sure the user is added in Azure AD as UserType = Guest, then have them log in with their Tata credentials. Confirm they can open the shared content and that RLS or CLS works as expected.
Also ensure they're covered under Power BI licensing either through Premium capacity or an assigned license.
