Temporary Error message while opening Power BI App

Hi,

 

I am sharing Power Bi reports using Power BI app to multiple users within the company. Some of the users are getting the following error message. Once they dismiss it they were able to use the App as usual. I

 

have shared the App link that is available from the Power BI App and I made sure that the report that everyone should have access to is selected in the App. I am not sure why this error is coming in the first place even though users can use the App after dismissing the message. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, 

Thank you for your reply. I have done all of it and publsihed it. The issue was resolved now. Like you said, app took a while to sync properly.

Hi @KalyanAllam , In additon to @lbendlin , @BhavinVyas3003  response, I am adding some more points.

 

please check the below things to fix the issue.

 

1. Please check the list of reports included in the app and check all are shared with the intended users.

 

2. Please verify that all users have the correct permissions for each report in the app.

 

3. If a report was deleted or is no longer needed, please remove it from the app configuration settings.

 

4. Once you have done with above changes, republish the app and ensure all users get the updated version.

 

5. Sometimes Power BI apps cache has older configurations, and users may see errors until the app syncs properly.

Most likely they have URL bookmarks to reports that now have a different GUID.

  • Go to Power BI → Apps → Edit App → Navigation
    • Set the Landing page to a report that all users have access to
  • Republish the App
  • For affected users:
    • Share the latest app link again
    • Ask them to clear browser cache or try in incognito mode
