Teams Channel Name as Filter for PowerBI Report

Hello,

 

we've built a Power BI report that shows information about a specific customer. Currently you have to select the customer you want to filter.

 

Additionally we've got Teams channels for each customer. Every channel has a unique ID at the End of the Name. This ID is the customer code. With that code i easily could filter my report. We added our report in each channel, but you have to type in the customer you want get your information.

 

Is there a way that the PowerBI report that is added into a channel uses the channel name as filter for the content?

    Is the channel name part of your Power BI data ?  If not then Power BI has no way to filter its contents in the way you desire. If yes then you can add the filter to the Power BI url.

    Yes we've the customer ID in a standardized format in each channel name.

     

    But how can I use it?

     

    in my opinion it should be a RLS which reacts to a Teams channel name?!
