Switching Time Zone after Publishing Report
I have a database Database View I load into PBI Desktop. In the Database the time is stored as UTC. So when creating the view I converted the UTC to EST. It loads fine in the PBI Desktop. However, when I publish the report and view on the web, EST just briefly shows and then will switch back to UTC.
I'm a little confused as to why the PBI service would switch the time zone since the data is published with the correct time zone.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi jrohlman ,
Power BI times are automatically converted to UTC when published to Services irrespective of your timezone in Desktop.
The best way to tackle is create a new custom column with calculation tending to your required time with respect to UTC.
