Switch gateway connection from Dev to Prod
I am using deployment pipeline to deployment reports from Dev to Prod. I am aware that we can use deployment rules or power query parameters to change the data source from Dev DB to Prod DB automatically while deploying.
But, is there a way to change the gateway connection mapping and apply the correct gateway automatically?
Hi KateAllen i think you can’t automatically change gateway mappings during deployment for this you will probably have to go with REST API for autoamtion i guess

Yes, you can automate the gateway connection mapping when deploying reports from Dev to Prod using Power BI REST API, PowerShell, or Azure DevOps pipelines. Since deployment pipelines don’t automatically switch the gateway, you’ll need to handle that separately.

Hi KateAllen ,
Thank you for reaching out to us on the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.
Yes, the solution provided by the manikumar34 is correct. Power BI Deployment Pipelines do not automatically update gateway connection mappings, so using Power BI REST API, PowerShell, or Azure DevOps pipelines is the correct approach for automating this process.
