Subscription - unable to add users

Hello,

 

I have scheduled a couple of reports for a couple of staff and this appears to work well. However, when I tried to add another staff email in the Subscribe box in the existing reports. I recieve the following error;

 

You cannot subscribe free users or groups from a Non Premium workspace <Staff email address>

 

 

We don't have Premium, but have Pro. Reading from the doco we should still be able to utilse this feature.

 

We  checked the staff licence in the admin console and all looks good. What else can we check? Is this a bug?

 

I manage to add other staff successfully and others not. I'm just not sure where else to check.

It would appear to me that possibly it is checking if the user has got a Power BI Pro license before allowing them to be added to the subscription?

Thanks Gilbert for your quick response.

 

We checked and they have in the Admins Portal -> users. It shows that they are powerbi pro users. 

 

We are using office 365, is there some kind of conflict that could occur there?

 

Is there security that we need to check?

 

Do the users need to use powerbi for the first time?

The only reason it would not allow you is if you had Row Level Security on the dataset?

I don't have a row level security. I'm not familiar in setting that up.

 

We are also using gateway connection = Data gateway. Could this be contributing to the issue?

 

Could it be a workspace security?

 

It still does not make sense, why it would work for some and not in others.

Did those Pro users used Power BI before? If not, please ask them to log into Power BI Service with their Pro licenses to active license, and try again to see if they could be added into workspace successfully.

Thank you. I've sent the user instructions to acces the report first that I shared with her. Hopefully, if she has clicked onto into. I should be able to then schedule the report for her.
