Subscribe to Report - Hide the feature in PowerBI Service

Hello Experts,

As a Admin, I dont want users to explore "Subscribe to report" feature in powerbi service.

I am aware that from admin portal we can disable the feature. But it still shows in powerbi service - greyed out.

is there a way we can hide it completely so users dont see, dont complaint that how come it was there before !

Thanks,

Krp

No. A lot of things are like that. Creating a new workspace being blocked for example. The button is still there and works, but when it gets to the point of actually creating, it blocks it if that setting has been enabled in the portal.

Yes , but thats like Yes/No. And which we are aware of. It will be great if we can filter specific group of people who can have access to subscription feature and not the whole organisation.

similar to Workspace creation feature.

This is a support forum to help people with how it works or doesn't work. The MS Power BI team doesn't usually monitor this. If you have an idea for you you'd like something to to change, please use https://ideas.fabric.microsoft.com/ - that is something MS looks at when things get enough votes.

I'm going to mark this thread as solved as the question has been answered, even though I get you don't like how it works. 😁

@edhans :

Thanks for response. but do u think it is possible to unable subscription for specific security group? like we can do for workspace creation?

that will be good option too.

Thanks

No. It is a tenant wide setting. On or off. It is on by default. Your Power BI Admin can turn it off.

@edhans ,

Thanks for reply. Msft needs to improve in basic things. Subscription feature is so lame ! It doesnt consider RLS, and it is 90s thing to send report in email. The images it sends are also not good - whats the use of those static images ! if they cant improve they should remove it so users dont try and dont complaint.

Regards,

Krp
