Streaming Real Tme Dashboard

Hello, 

 

Currently I have created a couple of visualizations as a test with old data in our data warehouse. In the future, we would like to create some sort of real time dashboard with different visualizations that pulls data from our SQL database. As of right now we have Power BI Pro and I was wondering if this is a viable option? Also, what would be the best and easiest way to go about streaming real time data?

    Currently you need to employ some sort of process (like Power Automate or Powershell)  to push rows from your SQL database into the streaming dataset.  However Microsoft have announced some substantial improvements to hybrid streaming datasets which will allow you to wire in Direct Query as a virtual "hot" partition.

    Hey Anonymous ,

     

    next to what lbendlin is mentioning, can you please spend some time to elaborate what you mean by streaming real time data.

    Also, please provide a more detailed description of the origin of the data, this is important to understand the nature of the data being able to provid architectural guidance on how to to connect Power BI to streaming data.
