Storage mode to use for this scenario

Shouldn't it be LiveConnect, hence the report can refresh the visual using the existing data, and import mode for Dataset file since it there's no real time requirements specified?

Hi @YoungLearning ,

As per my knowledge this is my view

They mentioned combine two tables it's only possible with import mode(transformations &helper queries are required).Live connection is a way of connecting a Power BI report to a Power BI semantic model.

Thanks,

Sai Teja

Hi @YoungLearning

Thanks for the reply from @SaiTejaTalasila and @foodd .

The question mentioned the need to merge two tables, and liveConnect mode cannot coexist with other modes. If the two connection modes are mixed together, it will become a composite mode. Composite mode can only mix Import and DirectQuery, or integrate multiple DirectQuery data sources.

Hi @YoungLearning ,

As per my understanding it will be

Report file -live connect

Dataset file -import

Thanks,

Sai Teja

Could you please perhaps elaborate further or cite the sources to your answer?
