Specify named months to run subscription

Hi,

Thre organistaion I work for are currently migrating reports from SSRS to Power BI and have a requirement that reports are sent out on a quarterly subscription..

e.g.

1st January,  1st March,  1st June,  1stDecember.

In SSRS, report subscriptions can be configured to run on a specific day(s) of named months which allows the above requirement to be met.

However, Power BI subscriptions do not have this option. They can only be specified to run Monthly on specific day(s), meaning the report will be sent out every month.

Is anyone aware if Microsoft are planning to introuduce named months functionality?

Or if there is a work around using Power Automate?

Thanks

Nick

Yes, you can make a scheduled Power Automate flow - those will let you granularly configure the schedule cadence. Ideally you'd use the "Export to file with paginated reports" action, assuming you have a paginated report. This will let you email as a file. If you don't have paginated there are various other options like the standard "query a dataset", but they are much more "some assembly required".

Hi Christine,

Thanks for your reply, we went with Power Automate In the end and a solution has been developed.

Thanks

Nick
