Some simple basic getting started questions

Just getting started with Power BI, and I've got a few hopefully simple questions.

  • What happens if a user creates a dashboard/report, and they leave the company?  Does the dashboard/report go away?
  • Can you "transfer" ownership of a dashboard/report to another user?
  • Can you share a dashboard/report with an O365 Group?

1. It depends on if the Power BI license associated with this users is disabled or not. If it's disabled, the content within his workspace should be removed.

2. It's not possible transfer the ownership of a dashboard.

3. Yes, you can share a dashboard to a O365 group. For more details, see: Share a dashboard and reports with colleagues and others

As for transferring ownership of a report/dashboard, I believe @v-sihou-msft may have forgotten to mention that it is technically possible but only by retaining the source .pbix file and publishing it to another user's account.

Of course, if the dashboard and report exist in a group, you can take over report refresh and maintainance.

There are several work arounds if you get creative.
