Slow report suddenly
Hello,
PBI pro with 8 users. A total of 5 reports are published in a workspace.
the report uses a slicer to filter visuals across pages. This report and data source has not been changed for around a year.
all of a sudden one user had very slow search results and resulting visuals take ages to load. Report itself loads quickly. This behavior is now being reported by other users. It is intermittent.
PBI support answer is to upgrade to premium as 5-6 mins wait for visual to load is expected behavior in shared workspaces!
premium capacity is not viable nor premium per user.
Using okviz pro filter.
max on dimension table is 3,000 records.
any other users with similar experience or advise is much appreciated.
thanks

Hi,
There could be multiple reasons. We will need to know more about your dataset and configuration.
Are you using DirectQuery? This is slowerAre you using complex DAX logic? This would slow it down
How many page elements (Visuals etc) do you have? This would affect performance
Is there a gateway on the service?
Please give us more information or check some of these resources:

No direct queries, no complex dax which leaves service performance and visuals.
I had run performance analyser and didn't think I had solutions to using card visuals.
Thanks for the links though. It seems 8 card visuals on a page is not ideal and got me looking deeper into removing those card visuals. Ended up using Card with States usual by Okviz to replace the 8 card visuals thanks to https://www.sqlbi.com/articles/optimizing-card-visuals-in-slow-power-bi-reports/.
Will see if this sorts out issues or still persists.
thanks
