Slow Power BI Dataflows
Hi RadkaProefo
To fix your dataflow issues:
- Check Power BI Service Status: Verify for outages here.
- Simplify Dataflows: Reduce transformation steps and disable unused query loads.
- Test Sources: Test smaller datasets or isolate tables to find the issue.
- Verify Connectivity: Ensure no network or API limits are causing delays.
- Clear Cache: Clear browser and Power BI service cache.
- Use a Gateway: Ensure proper setup for SQL or other on-premise sources.
- Monitor Capacity: Check for throttling or resource limits if using Premium.
- Contact Microsoft Support: Share Activity/Request IDs and details for further help.
For now, use Power BI Desktop to handle smaller datasets until resolved.

Hi. That's weird. Are you working in a dedicated capacity? it would be important to check it's not overloaded. In order to validate if there is a throttling or something like that, please try doing the same power query at a PowerBi Desktop. If desktop works fine there is an issue in that workspace at service. However, if the desktop takes a lot of time it might be an issue with the source (plan sku or something like that).
I hope that helps,
