Slow Azure DocumentDB dataload to PowerBI Desktop with dynamic RUs

Hi

I'm pulling data from Azure DocumentDB to Power BI Desktop, and it is untolerable slow to load to data from this source. This is even if I have just plain collection data from Azure DocumentDB - and nothing else in Desktop report.

For example: 10k rows, 40 columns ---> 10 minutes. Too slow!Our IT guy told me we have dynamic RU purchase so it should not be because of this.

Any idea what's wrong? This was working fine like 1,5 months ago, but now it is totally jammed all the time.

@Anonymous,

40 columns? Do you need all of them?  Generally, columns impact perfomance much more than rows. Please remove the colums that won't be used and check if this issue persists or not.

Hi thanks for reply.

Otherwise good thinking, but the thing, my connection was working like a jar of butterflies - that is of course - like fast and great before.

Besides, c'mon, I am not pulling 10 million rows with 200 columns... that would be much... a few 10K rows and couple of columns should be a walk in a park. What if I was working for a really big organization with millions of database rows in a casual report? Power BI should be lightning fast!
