Slicer(new) with 'Select All' behaving weird (multiselect)
Hi All, I am quite new to the space and I came across this issue with the Slicer(new). Below are the replication steps.
1. Add a Slicer(new) to PBI report with 'Select All' option enabled. Publish to a workspace.
2. Open the report in PBI workspace. 'Select All' is selected by default.
3. Click on 'Deselect all', and move the mouse, the text on the button changes to one of the options in the slicer instead of 'Select All'.
In PBI Desktop it is working fine (Feb 2025 Version). I dont see the Slicer(new) in the service when I edit the report.
Any suggestions to have this resolved would be appreciated.

Issue still exists. I had to replace the new slicer with the standard one.

This issue has come up before. Do you recall when it started?

Not sure. I noticed it recently while testing the report design.

Indeed, I have exactly the same issue
I never use this new filter
You can use a standard filter, display it as Tile and add a select all option
And you have the same look and field that New filter

Downside is, users need to use 'Ctrl' to select multiple options and I have to customise the theme to change the background color of the selected tiles from black to the desired color, which I am trying to avoid using this new slicer.

For the issue with Ctrl,
You just have to set Multi-select with ctrl to off

Hi SanPBI,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.
It looks like you are facing an issue with the new slicer visual where the ‘Deselect All’ button text changes incorrectly in the Power BI Service, while it works fine in Power BI Desktop with Feb 2025 version. Also, you are unable to see the new slicer when editing the report in the service. There can be multiple reasons for this to happen like there can be issue with Power BI Service Compatibility or it can be a bug in Power BI Service or because of Cache Power BI Service may be loading an older version of the slicer or misinterpreting its state.
You can go through few options and check if the issue still persists. Make sure that the Power BI Service version is updated to support the new slicer and you can check Power BI Blog Updates and News for updates on slicer support. You can clear browser cache or open the report in an incognito/private browsing window. You can also try classic slicer instead of New Slicer visual, until Microsoft fully supports the new version in the Power BI Service or if you must use the new slicer, consider using a custom slicer.
I would also take a moment to thank Cookistador and lbendlin, for actively participating in the community forum and for the solutions you’ve been sharing in the community forum. Your contributions make a real difference.
If I misunderstand your needs or you still have problems on it, please feel free to let us know.
