Size limit for data flow for pro user

Hi,

Is the dataflow limit of 10Gb a limit per workspace or a total limit for the license?

Scenario: A company has 100Gb of client data in their database. Let's say the total amount consists of 10Gb per client and there are 10 clients. Is it possible to create 10 workspaces for each client that all have a data flow of 5Gb with the Pro licence?

Thank you in advance!

Literally, it's right. but please note that the size of the dataflow is the compressed size, once it is refreshing/querying, the uncompressed size should be twice as much the compressed size. that means it probably not works well in your workspace if the dataflow is 5GB.

  • Hi there

It is typically a combination of both your size file limits and an app workspace limit

I would suggest making sure that your data is as efficient as possible. And then upload the data to dataflows.

Unless you use your own Azure Data Lake storage, then that should not count towards the total.

    Hi Anonymous

Storage for dataflow entities counts against the existing limits for Power BI. Each user with a Power BI Pro license has a limit of 10GB, and each Premium capacity node has a limit of 100TB. If you’re using your own organizational data lake account, there is no limit – you can store as much data in your Azure subscription as you want.

Thank you for your answer. I have understood that the existing limit for a Pro license is 10GB/workspace. If this is correct then did i understand your answer correctly that this means I can have 5GB dataflow in more than two workspaces? Ofcourse within the 10GB workspace limit.

Using the organizations own data lake account solves the possible limit issue but this would be nice to know.
