Shortcut to a document in Power BI Service
Hello,
For our migration from SSRS to PowerBI, i'm trying to create a shortcut to a document in PowerBI. Is it possible ?
In SSRS, they created shortcuts with differents defaults values for each instance of the document. I would like to recreate the same, is it possible ?
Cordially.

Hi @CBI ,
If you are trying to assign a default value to your parameter in report builder,
Right click on specific parameter and click on parameter properties
In Report parameter properties you will find the option to assign a default value.
If you want to do the same in service you will only be able to do that if the report has semantic model attached to it.
By clicking on epsilon( three dots) beside the semantic model, click on manage settings next, you will be redirected to the above page where you can add default value to your parameter.

Hi @CBI
- URL Parameters: Allow you to pass filters and set defaults for specific instances.
- Bookmarks: Let you save and link to different views with pre-configured filters or slicers.
- Power BI API: For more complex embedding scenarios with dynamic parameter passing.

Argh my bad, I was talking about a PowerBI Report Builder document and not a PowerBI report.
For example, I want a document A in a workspace 1 to be also in workspace 2 with a different default value. It will facilitate the maintenance of the document.
- Is it possible to do that shortcut ?
- And then update the default value for the document in the workspace 2 ?
Cordially.

Hi @CBI
To achieve this with Power BI Report Builder documents (RDL files):
- Publish the same report to multiple workspaces.
- Use parameters in the report for values that can change.
- Manually set different default parameter values in each workspace after publishing.
- For easier maintenance, update the report in one workspace, then re-upload it to others with the new parameter defaults.
There's no automatic shortcut, but parameters help manage different default values for the same report in multiple workspaces.

Thanks for your answer @Poojara_D12 ! I get it.
I have tried to manage the parameter value on Power BI Service, but I cannot find this view, could you show me a screenshot or tell me where I can find it please ?
