Sharing to Free users not possible anymore-Licensing

Hi,

i created several reports fro my Pro license and shared them other free user of our company.

Now its not possible to share new reports or Apps to that users.

If i share them to free users. they recieve a message to upgrade to por license or a need to have the report into a premium capacity.

If i i assign the report to a premium capacity the free users recieve a message that they have to have a premium license.

Is it not posssible to crate as Pro users reports and share them to free users anymore?

Regards

Hi @Anonymous,

to be able to view a report you need either of these:

  • Give the end user a Pro license (or Premium Per User, but that's in preview and will be more expensive)
  • Publish the report to a Premium (P-SKU) capacity workspace and share an App to the end users (starts at around $5000/month
  • Use an Embedded capacity (EM-SKU) to embed reports into a portal/application
  • Publish to Web (which is free, but has major security issues because everyone (also outside your organisation) can see the report)

Thanks for your Information. This is a gamechanger and will make PowerBi to expensive to share reports to people on a monthly base. Its time to switch to another solution.

You're welcome @Anonymous.

I wonder which solution you're going to adopt then? Because there will likely be costs involved in any solution, besides printing the reports and putting them on their desks every day... 😉
