Hi,
I have a pro-licens and a report on a premium capacity that I'd like to share directly with some users external to the organization who don't have pro-licenses. But when I try to share it I just get a message saying I can't use invalid mail addresses.
Is it not possible to share reports this way?
Thanks
Solved! Go to Solution.
After some testing I got to this conclusion:
- It is not possible to share specific reports with an external email-adress that is not already in the AD.
It is possible though to share a Power BI app.
- That person then gets an email with a link to the app, and when visiting the link an external guest user account is created in the AD. And it is after this possible to share specifik reports directly with the user.
With Webdashboard you can easily share your Power BI reports and dashboards, with an intern and external users. All you need is an e-mail address.
You can try Webdashboard for 30 days and if you need any help, they will quickly react. It's available at the Microsoft App Source and for more information, you can visit the website: www.webdashboard.com

Hi @Anonymous ,
There are three ways to share report or dashboard with external users:
1.The content is allocated to Power BI Premium capacity
2.Share with an external user that has a Power BI Pro license
3.Invite an external user and assign them a Power BI Pro license
According to my understanding, if you share content to external users correctly, you can receive notifications by subscribing and sending emails.
The correct sharing to external users should be as follows:
Learn more about:Share Power BI reports and dashboards with coworkers and others - Power BI | Microsoft Docs
After adding again, observe whether you can receive the email notification correctly. If not resolved, please provide detailed error information and let me know immediately. Looking forward to your reply.
Best Regards,
Henry

You have to enable sharing with outside organization in Power BI Tenant.
