I am trying to share my power bi app with someone from a different company as an external user. When i add their email address to the list of users, and they click the link that is emailed to them, they get an error that says you are unable to view this content
I found that their email address did not convert to their name. Is there some setting on our configuration or their configuration that would be blocking them from viewing this app? I have shared this report with a different external domain and it worked OK, but I am not sure if maybe our IT department is "allowing" that domain and this new domain needs to be added?

We tried that. We found an odd solution. Once we deleted our old (no longer valid) from Domain A in the tenant, we re-shared and it worked. The issue was that we were not seeing the agree button until the old domain was removed. I dont know if it was because we had the same names or if the old tenant and the new tenant for Domain A and Domain B were somehow linked.
Hi @Anonymous ,
As you said you have successfully shared the report with a different external domain, please try to clear the browser cache and try again.
Best Regards,
Jay

I am following the steps for the Ad hoc because that is all i have access to. What i see happening, when the user clicks the link it prompts them to login. i see the page that says accept invitation, but then it skips it and goes straight into the Apps page, with nothing visible.
Please keep in mind this user is someone who had access with domain A, but the company switched to Domain B and they no longer have access to login with Domain A.

Follow the steps mentioned in the below doc:
Distribute content to external guest users with Azure AD B2B - Power BI | Microsoft Docs
It's a process (planned invites) of adding your external users as guest users in your tenant first and then share the content with them. That way, when you add their email address, it would show up their names.
