I want to share a dashboard to our Board members (external) and we can assign them an Office 365 Account (as I understand it to share a user has to be in our domain and needs an Office 365 account.. is that true?)
Also to refresh from internal data... can't I just use a spreadsheet in my OneDrive For Business, for example, as the source and refresh the spearsheet with internal data?
@muvanni Yes that's correct while sharing a dashboard, a member has to be in same doamin and will only have read access. Yes you can use excel spreadsheet stored on onedrive and refresh using data management gateway installed on premise.
only users in your office 365 tenant can access content in Power BI.
You can use One Driver for Business as a source and refresh
