Sharing PowerBI Report with external mail-enabled contact.

Hi All,

We have an issue sharing PowerBI content with external users.
These particular external users have a mail enabled contact within our AD in order to receive emails sent to distribution lists and to have a GAL entry.

The problem is the guest invite triggers a guest object to be created in Azure AD that has a blank email address and proxy address as that address has been taken as an SMTP proxy by the external contact. Then never works.

The only workaround we've seen is to delete the contact before sending out the invite then recreating the contact, which is rather intrusive. Or to temporarily change the External SMTP address of the contact, let it sync to O365, then create the invite. Once accepted by the user, then change the email address of the contact back to original.

The problem has been outlined in this Azure AD feedback portal and was marked as solved. But numerous people have given feedback that it's still a problem.

Logged a ticket and went through some troubleshooting steps.
No fix for this issue with existing contacts but the workaround was to delete the azure guest account and AD contact. Clean slate and start again. Re-create and re-share content and have the azure guest invites re-send.
