I have a Premium (PPC) workspace, and it contains a dataflow, a semantic model and a dataflow. I want to share the dataflow with an external user, so that they can use it as a source in another dataflow *in their tenant*.
I can create the external user as a guest in our AAD, no problem. I can share the report with them, again no problem.
However, I'm not sure exactly how to share the dataflow with them. There seems to be a fair bit on sharing reports and semantic models, but very little that speaks specifically about dataflows.
In the documentation, I see this:
Which kinda implies that guest users *can* connect to our dataflows, but presumably only via dataflows in their own tenant. Which is fine, if we can get it to work.
Has anyone successfully shared dataflows externally, and are there any pointers you coudl share?
Thank you
Hi @samloud ,
1.Here is a solution to a problem similar to yours, hopefully it will help you. Solved: Share dataflows/datasets with external users via a... - Microsoft Fabric Community
2. If you want to use dataflows from multiple tenants in Power BI Desktop, you can go to Home > Transform Data > Data Source Settings in power bi desktop: Select ‘Global Permissions, select Power BI Data Streams, and then select Edit Permissions. You will be able to use Tenant B's credentials to ‘Log in as another user’. More detailed information can be found at the link: Using Dataflows from Multiple Tenants in Power BI Desktop - Olivier Travers.
If your Current Period does not refer to this, please clarify in a follow-up reply.
