Sharepoint Source File - "Network Path not Found" after working the day before
Hi All
Hopefully an easy fix but I've run into an annoying behaviour with linked Sharepoint files not updating in the PowerBi service.
I created a PowerBi dashboard in Desktop with a simple graph that is linked to an Excel file on our corporate Sharepoint site, I was able to refresh it afterwards and saw changes coming through.
Afterwards I published this to the PBI service and set it to automatically update every morning at 10:00 using a Private Gateway and did a test refresh (which worked fine) - I assumed it will run the next morning.
Next morning I got a failed refresh notification and when I checked the error message this is what popped up:
I tried to sign in on all four privacy levels but still get the message that the URL is invalid.
I am utterly perplexed because I have made no changes to the URL and now I am getting the same error on my desktop file.
I tried searching for the solution online but all solutions relate to this error message when initially setting up files, I haven't seen an issue logged where it worked the first time but somehow "lost" the URL afterwards.
This has happened in the past as well and the only solution was to literally repoint the source back to the exactly the same URL by editing it in the Query Editor, literally no change to the link. Next day it can't find the URL anymore.
Some further info on this:
- Other Sharepoint linked files seem to work and refresh fine.
- Happens on both Desktop and Service
Any help or assistance would be appreciated.
Thank you

Hi, IvanB
Are you using a local file? I don't know if it is because he can't retrieve local files after you shut down, try to use sharepoint online list.
